We finally have disclosure about UFOs

After all the time we have been waiting and working to get the government to disclose what they know about UFOs, we finally have a success!
Last week a member of the White House’s Office of Science and Technology Policy denied covering up evidence of contact with aliens in response to an online petition submitted on the White House’s website.
“The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race,” the statement read.
Some people in MUFON and in the UFO community might be disappointed that our government isn't really in contact with extraterrestial beings. But at least the US government finally told us what they know about UFO's. Maybe someday alien beings will make contact with earth or we will go out into the universe and make contact with them.

Well, I think the government is correct about this. You can read my answers about this here on this forum. It just mere common sense, a little research and some logic that you will come to their conclusion as well.

However, in my case, it doesn't end here on earth. My two sightings happened outside earth's atmosphere and until to this day, I have no clues what are those things that I saw. I can speculate they are space probes, satellites or spacecrafts. However, I'm not sure if these man made space junks can maneuver swiftly at 45 or 90 degrees angles and if they can come behind a "bright spot", eclipsing this spot and trail away in straight line.

I believe that there are alien beings out there. They may not look like humans, but they maybe more intelligent that we are.

Well I guess that one statement wraps things up...I am sure glad that Disclosure thing is over!

I was worried that they might be keeping a secret away from us little people, I feel so much better now!

However, I am so disappointed in all those former government employees, especially, those military members who have risked their careers and even their lives to come forward with so much proof that tells the opposite story..I wonder why they would risk so much for nothing but ridicule to gain?

The American People should be glad they have the Obaba administration watching out for them! That was almost a catastrophe!

I guess we can always go back into investigating unicorns, trolls and wizards.

If we ask the govt a question and they answer it, we can not accuse them of lying just because the answer is not what we were hoping for. I know they lie alot, but what evidence do we have that they are lying about extraterrestials? What "proof" have military members come forward with? I have never seen anything.

If the govt really does not know anything about extraterrestials on earth, how could they prove that to us? If the president says so, some people will accuse him of lying or think that he is being deceived. If they open up Area 51 to the public, some people will think they moved the aliens somewhere else. If they make top-secret documents public, some people will say they still are keeping some from us.
So, how could the govt prove to us that they don't know anything about extraterrestials?

There have been people sent to death for less "Proof" than what is out there within the testimony evidences alone. What can the Government do, you ask?

To start, How about holding Congressional Hearings, set up an Investigational Congressional Committee and stop stonewalling the American public at each and every turn.

Starting a Government agency with members/investigators who are tasked with investigating UFO reports starting from a scientific standpoint.

I have an idea, Congressional FUNDING OF MUFON!..With oversight of course!

Heavenfire is right. Courts have sentenced people to prison, or death, on only testimony evidence. But often a prisoner is released when new DNA evidence shows he is innocent. Science has a much higher standard of evidence than a court of law. Science does not even consider eyewitness testimony as evidence.

What if the government set up a Congression Committee to study UFOs and later they announced that they found no evidence that extraterrestials are here. Would you believe them? How could they prove to all of us that the govt. knows nothing about extraterrestials, if that is indeed the case?

There was a govt agency to study UFOs. It was Project Bluebook. Althought about 10% of its investigations were "unidentified", they found no evidence of extraterrestials. Many people do not believe that they did serious investigations. Some believe that they kept secret some of what they found. So how in the world could a new govt UFO investigating agency convince everyone that they are not lying or covering up evidence???

Gunnison's comment sums up many people's opinions - "I dont believe anything that is said by the govt."
This is why a new government UFO investigation or UFO agency would not be useful. Very few people would believe their conclusions. If their findings were different from what you believe, you would think they were lying to you. So what is the point of the government doing an investigation? How could they prove to us all that their conclusions were the truth?

Also, why have the aliens only chosen to contact the government of the USA? Or do you believe that they contacted many other countries governments and they are all covering it up?

I am still very new here, but I felt like this was a topic that I would like to chime in on.

Let us assume, for the sake of argument, that we have never been visited by any other race of intelligent life. Let us also assume that the US government is not covering anything up except secret projects for weapons and what-not. Does that mean we should stop questioning? Or looking for new evidence? The scientific answer to that question is an emphatic no.

The pursuit of knowledge is paramount. If we stop questioning, if we stop the skepticism scientific discovery ends, and that proves that we need both sides of an argument. When research is questioned from the opposing side it forces us to define our terms, refine our questions, explore deeper, and to work harder on the truth.

That said we also have to understand that, in scientific terms, failure is still an answer but to declare failure or success we have to be presented with or present all the possible evidence.

I do not have a answer to this overriding question. I do not think, for that matter, any scientist, politician, theologian, or thinker of any ilk has that answer either. I just hope that the fight on both sides of this search will continue.

First, even if some in government did have access to hard evidence, the person who wrote that reply would most likely not be in the loop.

Second, some people who actually handled the Roswell debris have said that it was not of this Earth, including Jesse Marcel and his son. Walter Haut, who was the public information officer at the 509th Bomb Group ordered by base commander Colonel William Blanchard to draft the famous original press release announcing that the United States Army Air Force had recovered a crashed "flying disc," wrote an affidavit to be sealed and not released until after this death.

That's pretty strong testimony, but not accompanied by hard evidence available to the public. If he was sincere, one could say he was doing what he believed to be his civic duty (to give people the truth). One could also say that those who participate in a cover-up are doing what they truly believe to be their civic duty (to protect people from the truth), although some may be just following orders with which they personally disagree. And if there have been ETs in contact with such government personnel, it's possible that the ETs themselves have said that in their experience it was better for a population not to know they were being observed by an more advanced species. If a thriving primitive tribe somewhere on Earth is discovered that knows nothing of modern society, should they be contacted or left alone?

But long before the Haut affidavit became public, the USAF put out the explanation that the "bodies" were dummies used to test parachutes, dropped in 1956 or 1959, and that the various people who claimed to have seen bodies in 1947 must have had the dates mixed up, not that there aren't lots of other stories about what they might have been.

But even if people did see bodies that looked more or less like the popular image of alien Greys, it's hard to imagine that aliens, or even unknown technologically advanced sea-dwelling beings from Earth, would allow bodies of their fallen comrades to remain in human hands. In that regard, those Grays might be androids. Of course, someone who did an autopsy should have been able to tell the difference between an android and a lifeform, but without communication with a living example, it would be hard to be certain of their origin, even if the most logical theory would be that they were from a planet orbiting one of the 49 nearby (within 51 light-years) solar analogs. And if hard evidence is strictly required, even the word of a nonhuman entity as to its origin would not meet that criterion.
