Well, I'm new here too. I hope this is a serious site. I regard my UFO experiences as both concrete and factual. This is public? 'People' are great; the 'public' is a monster... Allowing the 'Public' in will slowly cause the death of this site, I think. But - time will tell. If the public is really serious about this ufo 'phenomenon' - they will contribute to our cause and join MUFON to get on this forum, no? I would suggest a kind of "junior" site for the public-at-large; a kind of parking place for their pie plates, if you will. LOL Hi, everyone! Ron •¿•

I am also a new member to this site. I use to be one of those people who never thought much about UFO's. That changed in August 1977 while visiting family in Warren MI, enroute to a new military assignment in Germany. I was on the phone talking to my sister when my daughter who was 14 at that time came running inand said Dad you need to come out here, there is a ufo out here. I just reply yea, OK.. told my sister what she ad said, at that time the neighbor next door stuck his head in the door and said JR there is a UFO out here over the sand lot balll field.. I figured that I should go out and see boy did I get a shock. There was a disk shape UFO about 100 feet from the back yard fence an about 20-50 feet above the ground. It was in a hover mode. It awas disk shape about 50 foot in dia and approx 15 foot or so from the bottom dome and top dome., It was dull silver in color and had alternatin red-white lights around the rim rotating very slowly clock wise the lights wer ht size of the craft's rim, about 2 ft wideand about the same in length curved over the top and bottom of the rim. it was close enought to the ground to light up the area under the craft. In a hover the lights were dim and were rotating very slowly clock wise. the craft would move very slowly up and down and to the right. At one point it tilted downward slighty, but maintained its height above the ground. After a couple minutes it moved acroos the field at a speed of a fast walk toward the US Army Tank plant and stopped again just slightly above the plants power station. when it moved the lights rotated faster than at a hover, after a about a minute it tilted upward at about a 45 degree angle toward the NE and the lights increased rotation becoming mostly white and left aht a highrate of speed until it wen out of sight in to the cloud cover. The cloud ceiling was about 1200-1500 ft AGL. About the time it entered the cloud cover a USAF f-4 ccame over and followed it, the F4 was very low and gaining a good amount of speed. Key factor was this site was in the middle of of agreat numeber of homes in the subdivision. Visibility frorm the house and business , and street lights on alsides of the field made viewing visibility of the craft outstanding and very clear and of all the time s not to have a carmra,. Besides myself there were5 others in the back yard looking at the craft. At the time we saw the Crft it was about 2130 EST, At that time I was an active army Major, and a US Army CID Special l agent, I also held a TS clearence, and did not officially repot the event. I was well aware of the problems it would have cost me if I had did so. I retired from the Army while in Germany in 1979.. Due to the experiance I became very interested in UFO's and did a lot of research. I now believe they are reaal, and this craft was not like any aircraft I had encountered while in the service, I hd flown both Helicopter, and fixed wing aircraft, I also had attend the USAF Air-ground Operations course and audited the Forward Air controllers course. In Vietnam I was an Air operations Officer, and have was awarded the Air Medal..Where it came from is your guess. But so many people around the world can not be wrong. UFO's do exist.

Hello I have been a Mufon member for a couple of years now and I think I might renew for another year. I have been interested in the UFO stuff since about 1969 when it came back to me that I had an encounter with three UFOs and alien beings in the winter of 1966 or 67 then I was on a winter camp-out in the Boy Scouts. I think I might have had another encounter about two years ago that involved a rectangular type of UFO that was examining many people besides my self. After that I joined MUFON in hope of finding other people who had the same incident happen to them at the same time but that did not work out for I have not find anyone.
I like to go to the meeting when I am able to because I like to hear in person what other people have to say about personal experiences that they have had also.

Hi,
The UFO subject is a hobbey of mine. I've never seen one. I don't know If we have been visited by ETs. I've been to Roswell and read a bit about the incident. It is interesting because it is a real event in history. What happened is uncertain, but it appears to me something did crash and the government lied.
In short I like to ponder possibilities.

Hi all
My name is Keith Basterfield, a long term UFO researcher from Australia, who has specialised in recent times in locating, examining and documenting the Australian government's UFO files. I look forward to contributing to the forum.

I agree with some of Wasco’s comments:
Some individuals, within the field, fail to adhere to the principles of objectivity and rationality, whilst undertaking research and conducting investigations (and commentating on message boards!). Some of these individuals seem to be far removed from reality, and are one of the reasons that the field is generally marginalised, with regards to it being a legitimate field of scientific enquiry. Now let me emphasise that everybody should be to comment on this message board (it’s a public forum, however one must be wary of unsupported comments/ allegations).

On this forum is there or could there be put into effect a ignore option. So when there is bad mouthing and insulting each member here has the option so they would be able to put that person on a ignore list so they would not have to listen to their comments anymore?

I guess I'll offer a new member intro.
I am a retired professional who has recently cruised into the senior citizen status thanks to another birthday. At home I love to garden, cook, sew and paint. I love crafting and doing things that are creative.
I also love all kinds of animals although I am cutting back on keeping the critters. I now have two cats and no dogs.
As to my UFO experiences: I've had one close encounter approximately 25 years ago. Since that experience I've seen several other UFOs and have had some strange paranormal experiences.
I look forward to meeting everyone here.

I saw that MUFON has a forum again. I was on the old one before they closed it down. I see that once again the forums are open to the public. In my opinion that was the cause for the demise of the old one. Take this as the opinion of a concerned outsider. I let my MUFON membership lapse and have no intention of renewing it. MUFON is going to have to work to gain my trust and respect again. Anyway, I figured I would join to watch how the forums develop. I know it's PC to be non-judgmental and encourage diversity but it's also important to realize some people really are simple minded or bat poop crazy, especially when the subject is UFOs. If the forums are again taken over by the woo-woos then they will again be a liability and an embarrassment. Of course the same could be said about MUFON itself. Hi Wasco and all returning and new forum members. We hope to rebuild your trust as well as many others. Volunteers are working hard to update a lot with MUFON's infrastructure. One being the forums and website. These are being completely reconstructed and are going to be very nice and full of new content and good reads. Our forums are open to the public once again and we plan on keeping it that way. But this is not were we are ending it. Think Social network. Oh so much to tell, I can't wait to show everyone soon what we are going to provide everyone with. keep looking her on the board for updates about the website, forums/social network and app........ whoops did that slip. Welcome aboard everyone, anticipate some great and positive changes.

Hello from a long-time supporter and new contributor. I am also a long-time admirer of MUFON's work in this most important, if beleaguered field of scientific study. It is most impressive to me, and I am grateful, that such a large and growing number of great minds have affiliated themselves openly with MUFON and the study of ufology. I am gratified that these brilliant scientists and others from many diverse fields the world over have been so willing to bravely free themselves from the shackles of conventional wisdom. They and most of us here have opened our minds to aspects of our reality which we do not yet understand, but, despite our natural fears, wish to understand and we refuse to cower. The potential benefit to mankind of understanding this subject is staggering to ponder. It is unfortunate that there are those whose minds are so comfortably closed, who are so filled with fear of that which they cannot understand, that they feel compelled to rail against it, or at least to deny and belittle it and those of us know, who believe because we have seen, and who thirst to know more. Hopefully, all who visit this site are or will become open, not necessarily convinced, but just open to the possibility of that which to some of us is an undeniable reality -- that we are being and probably always have been visited by beings far more advanced than we. I myself have been blessed to have seen a few different craft in our skies which I know were not from here, or, at least not from the here we know and can generally perceive. In any event, I wish to thank MUFON for this soapbox, and to "skywalker" for creating this particular forum for introductions. As for my own introduction, I will admit that I am a lawyer, that I am real, that I believe that visitors from another galaxy or from other galaxies did give us (an) antediluvian DNA booster(s), that they are ever present, watching and waiting for the right time to return to the consciousness of mankind as a whole, and that I am, like you and they are, made of stars.

Hi there! I just want to introduce myself. I have been a member of Mufon for a couple of years and am glad to see that the forum is back. I hope this one will be successful, and I look forward to being a part of it. I, too, am a longtime admirer of Mufon's work. It pleases me to see so many of us on this board!
