Here's a revolutionary concept that has been depicted in sci-fi movies that can come to reality. Lets say flying cars as depicted in the YouTube video go into production. How would vehicles get around in a busy city with skyscrapers safely? Lets look at Googles new glasses: We now have GPS technology and augmented reality technology. This means you can have virtual highways your vehicle would follow in the air. This would all be depicted on your vehicles window. Lets say its a dark stormy night. All traffic and building along with the virtual highway would be depicted in 3D using augmented reality. The vehicle could also be programmed not to vear off the highway or crash into solid objects such as a building having sensors built in and also conduct emergency maneuvers in case of emergencies safely landing.

I see where you are going with a multi-tier airway system where flying vehicles travel on a virtual highway system. This has been depicted in science fiction, most notably Star Wars Episode II.

www.logiaerospace.com/"Is this the Pentagon's flying car? A company called AVX Aircraft has come up with an answer to DARPA's call for a military flying car. The proposal features dual-rotor lift and rear propellers for forward speed. Once it lands on a battlefield, it can be driven over moderately rough terrain. According to AVX, it would be able to carry four people and a total payload of 1,040-lb. It could go 140 mph in the air and an impressive 80 mph on the ground. I don't know if this is what the Pentagon is shopping for, but I definitely want one. "

nawewtech.angelfire.com/flyingcar.html"Gear reduction double ducted fans and one or two smaller foward drive fans with varible pitch to reverse. Electric is more dependible and easier control. Why electric? Most people who can afford flying cars have solar pannels on their rooftop to charge up the batteries. A gaseoline motor included so they can get back home by recharging if where they are going doesnt have or want to recharge their car."
