This happened along time ago. I grew up in the small town(2000 people) of West Branch, Michigan and born in 1950. I'll never forget the day when my friend and I saw something strange. I don't remember the date or the year because I was maybe 14 years old. West Branch is surrounded by three hills to the West, South and North. No mountains but big rolling hills and beautiful. Little trout streams and clear lakes and winding roads. One day I was at my friends house at the very end of West Branch looking south and we saw an object at dusk. It was round and metallic and it glowed becuase of the Sun. It was below the hill line and didn't move like a ballooon but like an object. From a very early age I became interested like most kids in rocketry and astronomy and watching the skies and Alan Shepard's first sub-orbital flight and maybe that's why today I still build my own solid propellant rocket motors using Ammonium Perchlorate and Aluminum powder. But I will never forget what I saw. I know what I saw. I was the type of geek that would sit out at night and just look at the stars and during the day and mix up some strange gunpowder concoction because I was just a kid that got caught up in the space program in the early 1960's. My little town wasn't conducting ballooon tests like we had our own tv staion. Can I say something right now? Top secret aircraft do not fly at low allitudes over heavily populated areas for everyone to see, ever! The U-2 and SR-71 Blackbird are not responsible for one ufo report, ever. GOT IT! I guess that's the difference between me and normal people. I immediatedly look at the sky. They flew to such high allitudes and nobodies looking that wouldn't account for one sighting around the world. The government continues to lie. I know what I saw. I'm not an idiot. Flares? Are you kidding me?
