What is the oldest or rarest book you have in your library or book collection. I have over two hundred books and I think the rarest book I have is titled "Uranus, Space Travel volume 1 no. 5. This was published in 1955 by E. Biddle in England. Has anyone seen this before or know anything about it. Otherwise tell about the book or books you have.

The oldest book I have is called "Indian Legends." It was written in the late 1890s when they still had real indians to tell real indian legends.
I don't know what the rarest book would be because I have no idea how rare some of my books are. I've got thousands of them including many of the early UFO/flying saucer related books from the 1950s.

I have lots of UFO books. Some I am not proud of of course. I have George Adamski, Howard Menger, Edward Ruppelt, David Jacobs, Jacques Vallee to name some of the authors. I remember reading Donald Kehoe "Flying Saucers from Outer Space" but don't think I ever owned it. I tried to find it recently simply to re-read it but the local library has very little. I think It did once. UFO Enigma: Challenge to Science by Vallee may be the oldest I have. Were you referring to the UFO topic only?

I have been away for awhile and wanted to check back and see if anyone came up with anymore old or rare ufo books from their collections. Nice to read the posts that were put up. It was nice to see some of the old familiar authors names like Adamski, Menger, Keyhoe and such. Let the members know what you have or enjoyed in any future posts.

I have quite a few of the early UFO books. Most of them seem pretty silly and outdated reading them now but I like to collect them for their historical value. I'll have to go through my collection when I get back home and see what titles I have.

Well, its not necessarily old, or even rare, but I found an autographed hardbound copy of Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind (subtitled) Alien Abduction, UFOs, and The M.I.T. Conference in a used bookstore for $10. Its written by C.D.B. Bryan. That doesn't happen everyday.

Nice find. You never know what you will come across in the used book stores.

I'm currently reading The Edge of Reality by Hynek and Vallee...two of my favorite UFO researchers.
