I've been lucky enough to have had several encounters through childhood (that have stopped since).
As far back as being a toddler, I remember seeing a strange light appear above a neighbour's roof, a few times. I cried for my parents, who remember that I pointed out the window but was too young to say more than "light" and "white", repeatedly. I remember I had dreams of "moving inside a moon beam", and others. I used that subject in creative writing at school.
Years later, I was playing with a friend in the front yard when I thought I'd "heard" my name called. No one had. Along with that "thought", I knew I had to go to the back yard, and told my friend. We ran, and when she got there slightly ahead of me, she pointed up to the sky and said, "look!". There were two silver disc-shaped objects hovering. They were rotating (spinning). After several minutes (during which I pulled out of the house as many people as I could to come and see) the discs suddenly moved down in a mirrored zig-zag motion, quite fast, then stopped just as suddenly. After a few more minutes, a third appeared between them (this one had a red light) and they all moved off silently further into the distance.
Two days later, one appeared again, this time at night. It was lit up this time and looked "glassy" from a distance. I told my mother (I was watching it from my bedroom window) but she didn't come and look. It slowly disappeared out of view.
In another city, as a teenager, I was sitting in the living room when I felt I should "go to the bedroom window" where I knew I'd see another one. Sure enough, there was something strange ... though a different shape this time. This was a black triangle with green lights underneath, moving slowly and silently out to sea. Shortly afterward, it was reported on the radio, and had been seen by many moving west to east, exactly the direction I'd seen as well.
Now, many years later, I wait for another "knowing" or "calling", but I think perhaps "they've" gone, or as an adult I'm now too out of touch with the sort of mindset needed. I don't know. Maybe another time, I hope!
