Saw probably my first real UFO tonite. I already made a report with MUFON. Seeing if any other members saw it also to maybe track the movemnt
Around 10pm Central time about 20 miles due south of Chicago.
I went to friends as we were about to go for a motorcycle ride. I park my bike and next to his house is open field used for farming. There are no tress and i have a clear view of the sky in almost 360 degree view untill i face North. Open sky for almost every other direction.
Well i hop off my bike and as i take my helmet off i look up to undo the helmet strap. As i was really looking at nothing in the sky in particular a very bight star that would compare to Venus caught my eye in the South eastern sky.
Much to my surprise i see that it's moving. I rip my helmet off really fast and watch it.
Now this star object has to be incredibly high and bright to resemble a star. But it making huge advances in the sky very quickly. It covered the whole hemispere in a matter of 8-10 seconds.
It started about 60 degrees above the south-eastern horizon and was north of position in 8 seconds. Now at thas altitude it had to be moving pretty fast. I live 20 miles away from ohare and see a lot of jets. This was no Airliner. It had no other lights just looked exactly like a bright star moving across the night sky.
The next thing that happened, i called my buddie when i saw it moving and told him to get outside(which he didn't) so i was tracking as it went North.
It went behind a cloud and never came outta of the northern cloud. Now that was the most unusual part. It kinda slowed before it ent behind the cloud and then just disappeared.
So if i had to make a guesstimate of speed at that altitude it would be at least Mach 8-10 by my estimate by i really don't know because if have never seen a high flying object cover that much sky that quickly. And then the fact it disappeared made me sure it was not a meteor.
Well thats my story and im stickin to it. Star moving very fast. I mean it looked exactly like a star, a really bright star. But there is no way in hell that was a satellite or a meteor or jet. It might of been a hypersonic aricraft though, but why was it so bright?
