This is a composition of 3 video files documenting a UFO sighting in January 2009, Stephenville, TX. The Filmer did not realize that her camera was on film mode and made 2 very short clips prior to recording.

Another bad video. The excitement of the filmer aside, that could have been anything. There was no way to know weather the object was moving or not, except that the filmer said it was, which means nothing. And for most of the video all that we could see was a blurry little speck of light. Could be plane or planet or star or bug or bird. Not very convincing. Really hope to see a really GOOD ufo video one of these days.

I agree that the video is not the best quality and that would be true with a lot of these types of videos where a person does not have the greatest equipment to capture nightime UFO footage. It looks more impressive to the naked eye but I disagree on "it could be anything" type logic throwing out bird, insect, stars explanations.
The cars passing in front of the person filming gives you a vantage point and a possible location. A formation of lights come in and out like whatever is in the sky appears to be hovering.

The cars passing in front do provide a bit of a reference. I still think more detail is needed before earthly causes can be ruled out. I have seen ground lights reflecting off of bird flocks at night that you would swear were something out of this world. And in the right atmospheric circumstances stars can appear to be very unstarlike. I agree birds or insects are not likely here. I think a terrestrial aircraft or ground lights are most likely the culprit. Of course like you said, not a high quality video, so it is hard to say for sure. But we should never let the fact that poor quality on a video, which makes it hard to identify the object as terrestrial, lead us to the conclusion that it is extra-terrestrial. The ET explanation must ALWAYS be the last explanation, resorted to only when all other Earthly explanations completely fail. And even then we must maintain a level of scepticism, always assuming that there may be a terrestrial cause that we haven't thought of. I guess what I am saying is that just because we can't prove that something is terrestrial, that does not constitute proof that it is extra-terrestrial.

Well once you rule out natural phenomenon then you are left with an uncoventional flying object. I wouldn't call something ET based on something like that.

It makes for an interesting case. Science does not let us use a lack of evidence as evidence. If we want to find alien spacecraft, we must find evidence that something IS alien spacecraft, not evidence that it isn't something else. For example, if it moves in a way that only a space craft could move, or if it comes from a place in the sky that only a spacecraft could come from, these are good cases. And there are good cases out there. I have seen very good photos, videos, and heard very reliable testimony from multiple sources ( eye witness testimony is usually terrible evidence, but on rare occasion you get pilots from 2 different planes that saw the same thing, or sailors on two different ships, or police officers in two different towns) these are the cases we need to focus on. One of the problems with UFO research is that instead of focusing on the few really good cases, researches tend to pile up cases, videos upon videos upon videos. Thousands of pictures. Thousands of witnesses. Most of these lack any credible evidence whatsoever. Having a lot of bad cases does not teach us anything. If we really focused on the good ones, and stopped calling every picture of a light in the sky an extra terrestrial spaceship, then the scientific community would take us more seriously. It is our open-mindedness that hurts us. Science is NOT open-minded nor should it be. A healthy dose of scepticism would serve the UFO community well.

The way I see this sighting is it could or could not be alien. Some case may not have an either or explanation and may remian unidentified. MUFON of course is a UFO organization that investigates UFO sightings. Even though lights in the sky are unappealing to FI's it would be a mistake to ignore cases. It's better to complie as much UFO info as possible in order to make a full assesment of what people are observing.

The video is poor quality, and I personally could not make a determination of what it is or isn't.
