Boomerang/V-shaped Craft Spotted Over San Antonio
05/04/2014
When: April 28th, 2014
Where: San Antonio
What: Boomerang shaped object traveling silently in a straight line
All over Texas, people have been seeing boomerang shaped objects glide through the air. The latest of these reports was quite detailed and even featured a drawing of the object. In the testimony, kindly and anonymously submitted to Texas UFO Sightings by a reader, the UFO is described as quiet, dark, and large:

I was sitting outside, observing the sunset, and taking my first good look at the sky in a long time. As the sun set, and the sky began to darken, I saw what I believed to be Mars, as the first star in the night sky. (Entire encounter happened at dusk, lasted 45-60 seconds)
Being my first chance to stargaze in a while, I had just put fresh batteries into a green laser pointer, and started pointing at various stars. The reason I mention the laser is that the beam is highly visible, and can travel a distance of about 2 miles, after warming up.
After holding the laser "on" Mars for more than a minute, while keeping it turned-on, I was looking S / SE when I observed motion coming from the South over my house, heading North.
As I focused my eyes, the object looked like a boomerang shaped object flying overhead. The object appeared to be the size of a 747 and the altitude of a plane on approach to land. The object had zero lights, and at such a low altitude, made absolutely no noise.
The object looked solid, yet translucent, and was two-toned. The leading edge of the object was a mid-brown / copper color, and the back half appeared to be tan / gray. As I looked at the object, I tried to make out a familiar shape or figure. At first, I thought it was a bird, because the back edge (again, think boomerang shape) appeared to have feather-like features.
From first sighting to its exit from view, I had my laser pointer on and aimed towards Mars. The object appeared to fly from its point of origin, in a straight line, to a point directly above me, then continued on an unaltered course to the North.
While on path, the object traveled within 10-15 meters of the visible beam, yet wasn't deterred.
My first instinct was to aim the laser at the object, but I refrained. If it was a plane, I didn't want to break federal law, and if it was a bird, I didn't want to blind it.
As the object neared the spot directly above me, I noticed that it had no central body or fuselage. The "bird" was essentially headless, and that was when I noticed that it almost appeared see through. That's when I knew that this wasn't a plane or a bird.
During the duration of the encounter, I never saw a single movement of any flaps, panels, wings, motors, rotors, fins, etc. The object remained completely motionless while traveling in a straight line (think glider).
Finally, as the object had its back edge to me, and was flying away, I decided to aim my laser at the object; expecting to see motion or at least a reflection. To my surprise, the laser never reflected from the object. It was if I was aiming at an object that wasn't there.
As silently and peaceful as it approached, the object continued away towards the south.
