I have been reading the 'Last 20 sightings' reports on this site for about 4 years now and I find them to at times exciting and other times just plain nutso, but I do appreciate that we have that forum available to the public to post and view. My question is, why do links that people have in their posts for Youtube get removed and shuttled over to the field investigators sections that 99% of us can't access? It's a real letdown to be looking forward to seeing someones video and to find that the link has been pulled. Why does MUFON do that ? Are you guys hiding something from the rest of us or doing it so we won't be directed away from this site and not return (which is absurd to say the least). Any answers moderators or FI's out there ?

Hi johnintuson, I will see if I can get one of the CMS people to answer that for you. I think it might have something to do with their personal information being part of the ID in the youtube account or a way for someone to be able to find out who they are. This would especially be true if they post as anonymous. Then their identity has to be protected. I am guessing at this based upon what I know. However I will let one of the CMS admins answer this.

Ahhh - That never even occured to me (obviously) but makes perfect sense. However I suppose that whoever is attaching the link may not feel the need to be so cloak and daggar since they obviously feel it's important to share a video with all of us that have a keen interest in UFO's. I dunno...Double edged sword I guess. Thank you for taking the time to respond Gort, I appreciate your help.

There should not be any reason you should not be able to view it. Please give me an exact example and we will look into it. The public description the witness inputs is never edited unless they make a mistake in placing their personal info, like address or phone number. Let me know and I will look into it.

Thank you, I will let you know. From what I have seen, it's any posting that has a link to YouTube with a video of a sighting. That is what makes it so frustrating because even if the person making the post gives a good description of what transpired, the link to the video has been pulled and shuffled over to the Field investigators section (it even says this in the post) and the general public has no way to find the video on YouTube without the proper URL.
Anyway if you can get this practice stopped I know that the majority of readers would be grateful to be able to see these videos. Thanks again for doing what you can Mo. After all we all read these postings to learn more about the UFO subject matter and any new information may help us out.

Can we get this practice to stop so all of us can visit the URL that the poster wanted us to see in the first place? Datos adicionales , quedaron varios registros mas de esa noche , como la Misma Orbitaci�n de ISS y Etc ., El Ultimo Flare del Video " 21h05 min , esta clasificado como Ovni (real , un pos v.e.d ) digamos que no habia ningun orbital , en las listas Sat que pudiese hacer tama�as aparturas , pero en realidad lo mas extra�o , es como lo hace , justo cuando nuestro has laser esta en Reposo y la Camara quieta , estos son los Flares Anomalos , a los cuales se les puede adjudicar un comportamiento aun mas desconcertante , parecen interactuar con nuestras Luces Artificiales

I will look into this. The only thing I can think of is that the witness spoke to a dispatch to have it removed for personal identification through their youtube account. That should be the only reason. I will look into it.

Sorry to belabor the point of this thread but I am still seeing this:
Late night after a college football game, I have three videos on my iPhone and can be see on YouTube titled[glow=red,2,300] [Title redacted/cms/tg] with the username [Username redacted/cms/tg][/glow]. friends were at my house with the normal drinking amount for any college student of age. it was later in the evening around 2 am so it was 10-10-10 at that time. my friend noticed a bright light that did not look to far but at the time to far to think anything of. then another light appeared and they seem to move aroun each other in no manner a human operating a flying electronic copter could possible maneuver, and really what pro rc flyer is out on a Saturday at 2am flying his plane. although since my posted video on YouTube I am starting to see more actually rc planes fly astound the same area with the same colors in my video. after witnessing that makes me believe that they might be doing that to settle the media, because there is a clear diference in the movements and smooth flow the lights saw compared to the rc planes flying around. The person reporting is telling people to look at his Youtube videos and yet again the links have been yanked by the report police while a few reports down from this one, another report is posted showing the persons FULL NAME (first and last) at the bottom of the posting!
Now I really have to wonder why some have full names and even phone numbers showing sidestepping any anonymity, while YouTube footage is Verboten. This just does not make any sense whatsoever and I for one would really appreciate the practice of editing poster information to stop. Obviously people want their footage to be seen by as many people as possible and isn't that one of the reasons for this site? Aren't we all looking for answers from as many avenues as possible?
I appreciate whatever you are doing or whoever you are asking about this practice, but withholding video information in this day and age sure sounds a lot like something that the U.S. GOVERNMENT does for their own selfish reasons. Does the public have any reason to no longer show trust in this website that sells itself as a place for the public to share information openly?
I sure hope not because I for one find this site to be invaluable for my personal research purposes as do many many others.
PLEASE HELP and thank you again for whatever you can do.
