Carbon, Ind.
Two Indiana sisters claim they spotted what appeared to be a UFO in Carbon, Ind., while they were driving on a country road October 1.
The sisters told Fox59 they were driving in an unfamiliar area on their way to Brazil, Ind. when their GPS told them to turn on County Road 100 East, a gravel road. They said the area made them feel uneasy and the location was “creepy.”
According to one sister’s account to Fox59 and the Mutual UFO Network, a database to report sightings, flashing lights appeared in the distance. The other sister then pointed out bright lights just a few yards from the front of their vehicle, which were initially mistaken for reflectors.
“They were extremely bright and appeared to be moving in a pattern that appeared to be going in a circle around an object,” said one sister in her testimony. “In the first few seconds the lights were going in a sequential manner as though they were revolving around the object then they began to blink on and off in random patterns.”
The sisters don’t want to be identified out of fear their reputations will be tarnished for reporting what they saw.
“The whole thing looked just like the typical lights on an alien craft thing that you see in the movies or on those videos where people are trying to hoax the public,” said the witness. “It was so stereotypical that we were wondering if someone was projecting the lights onto something in the distance that we couldn't see at that time.”
The sisters said they began questioning whether or not the object they saw was a UFO.
“The lights were in a horizontal line and remained that way all the time we were watching them except when they briefly tilted up on one side only for a couple of seconds before going horizontal again,” said one sister. “It titled up on the left side as we were looking at it.”
The sisters attempted to take pictures of the object but said it disappeared before they were able to.
The sisters said they continued to drive, frightened over what they said they saw. The sisters contemplated whether or not to tell a police officer they passed about what they encountered. Instead, one sister said they drove back to the scene in order to make sense of what they witnessed.
“I finally decided that we had to drive back there to make sure it wasn't something explainable,” said one sister. “We were so scared, but we knew we had to do it and I think we were really hoping there was a logical explanation for what we just experienced,” said one sister.
After unsuccessful attempts to discover an explanation, the sister called local authorities, hoping they would offer an explanation to the alleged sighting.
“The police didn't act like I was a crazy person nor did they act shocked,” said one sister. “She told me that the town of Carbon had fireworks that night and that could've explained the flashing in the sky, but she had no explanation for the lights. I was willing to accept that even though I knew what I saw wasn't from fireworks.”
A deputy from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office went to the scene and saw nothing.
A week later, the sisters returned to the area to investigate once more. The sisters said they asked nearby residents about the matter, but the neighbors were unable to provide them with answers. The sisters said there was no sign the hovering object was ever there.
Although the sisters received no explanation for what they said they saw, they said the experience changed them.
“I struggled with whether or not to report this sighting, but felt that it might be almost therapeutic to go through the whole experience again,” said one sister. “This sighting has changed us forever. I'm hoping that by reporting this that someone else speaks up saying they saw something that night too or maybe gives a logical explanation for what we saw.”

The explanation of what these two girls saw fits the description of something my fiance and I witnessed just a couple months ago, here in Indianapolis, starting around 11:30 PM and lasting until about 1:30 AM. We witnessed at least 3 aircraft circling the city and about an hour after that began, we saw what looked like giant passenger planes persuing them as well as smaller jets. At one point, on Meridian near Clay Terrace, we both had a clear as day view of one of the aircraft hovering over a neighborhood to the east of Meridian. I rolled down my car windows and it was completely silent, but had the same light pattern circling the entire craft. Other cars on Meridian were pulling over at the same time we noticed the craft. Over the next few weeks, a couple of nights we would see the giant passenger planes flying around Indy again. At this time when we saw these giant planes, and about 45 mins after it started, we also made note that no passenger airplanes were going in, or coming out of the Indpls airport. I believe what these girls saw is real. Other people won't. You never truly believe it until you've seen it with your own eyes.
